Sick Season Survival as a Breastfeeding Mama

It’s that time of year again — sniffles in the air and running to the tincture shop for herbs and elderberry syrup. But mama, don’t forget: YOU are the first line of defense for your little one.
As a breastfeeding mom, your milk is literal liquid gold — rich in antibodies, living cells, and immune-boosting magic tailored to your baby’s needs. Every drop is a dose of protection. So here’s how I’m keeping us well this season:
Prioritizing real food — bone broth, fermented veggies, garlic, and greens. Food is medicine.

I'm a big fan of elderberry, fire cider, bee pollen, and high zinc/vitamin C foods- which all serve to boost our immunity
And I have a few other tricks up my sleeve
Getting sunlight (or supplementing D3 when we can't).
Supporting my nervous system with rest, herbs, breathwork + saying “no” when I need to.
Loving on my adaptogenic herbs
Sipping immune teas (echinacea + ginger + nettle = yes please).
Staying mindful but not fearful — germs are part of life, and our bodies are wise.
To my fellow crunchy mamas: You’re doing enough. Trust your body, nourish your soul, and keep nursing through the chaos. Your intuition is your best healer.
What are your go-to wellness rituals this season?
